A long post after a longish break
I have been told to update my blog so here we go.
I'm sorry that I manage to consistently write mind numbingly boring posts and this will be no exception... at least you know what to expect.
Firstly, the reason I haven't "blogged" in a while is that I have been caught up in the middle of a hectic period of exams.
These were alright, the worst thing is sitting here, at the desk and going through the same old things again and again. So when the exams come round I quite enjoy them.
Someone once said that exams are depressing for the less capable and mind numbingly boring for the capable. Obviously I am in neither of those brackets which I'm not worried about at all. Admittedly Maths Paper 1 was the easiest paper in the history of history and meant I had to sit for an hour and a half waiting for the exam to end.
Obviously Euro 2004 is going on now and IMHO I think England have impressed the expectant fans at home. That is of course ignoring Rich and the statistics he quotes. Apparently against France England played poorly but above their potential against France and therefore are a rubbish team with no hope of doing anything. However, he also thinks we played well against Switzerland.
But I would disagree with him there. We played well against the French and contained the best attacking force in Europe for a long period of time. We kept the ball well and were really unfortunate to come away without even a draw. Then yesterday, we were dire... but still managed to get the job done. There were no fluid movements and apart from the goals very few decisive chances were created. We gave away far too many free kicks near our area and David James had on mad Man City moment. However we won comfortably and had we played like we did against France it could well have been more than that.
So I predict that we will get to at least the semi finals of these championships with it more than likely that we will face the Greeks in the quarter finals...
But in the defense of Rich, he does have paedobaptist sympathies so I can never be too critical of his views even when he tries to quote pathetic statistics to prove his point. So I'll let him have his own opinion. I love him really.
Big Brother had to be brought of air for an hour on it's live coverage during 2 and 3 in the morning because of too much violence. Lets get one thing straight... I don't watch Big Brother but surrounded by sophisticated friends I am aware of its ugly prescence. Why would anyone be watching it in the early hours in the morning anyway? And i found out that the viewing figures are up to 4.3 million people. Thats mad... Why watch a group of moronic abnormalities fight and talk and generally be annoying? Some people are so strange...
Finally, i have been listening to some sermons on the Song of Solomon. It's a great book in the bible, one that I really have ignored in the past. I would encourage all to read it through preferably with the help of a simple commentary explaining it... It will certainly be a blessing to you (or at least i hope so)
