Hmmm...

Norton Internet security has very usefully been blocking websites such as addictinggames.com and blast billiards which has helped me to get on with my life.
However, I have a complaint to register. Tonight, I attempted to access sermonaudio.com and was blocked from it. The reason? no, not religious fundamentalism but sex/Acts...now either Norton Internet security is completely wrong or Sermon Audio is...hmmm

A Message? But what message exactly?

My song is love unknown,
my Savior's love to me,
love to the loveless shown
that they might lovely be.
O who am I
that for my sake
my Lord should take
frail flesh and die?
Coldplays new album X&Y is obviously influenced by a number of artists that have preceded them. The ending of the second track "What If" sounds remarkably similar to something the Beatles have done while as has been much talked of the track "Talk" has taken a lot from Kraftwerk's "Computer Love".
Having listened to most of the songs on the album I also think that the hymn by Samuel Crossman that I have quoted above influenced Coldplay in their song "A Message". Chris Martin starts by singing "My Song is Love..." with a pretty similar tune that we sing to the hymn. Thats as far as it goes however, but if the hymn had been an influence they are quite nice words for a high profile celeb to read. That said, it doesn't seem to have impacted Mr. Martin but hey...theres a useless analysis for you.
The message of the song "A Message" is the usual you'd expect...a small love ballad with average rhyming. I like the song and am sure thousands of others will. The message from the hymn that I believe Coldplay may have heard is far deeper and to be heeded by everyone. Its a shame that its not the case in this society.

French Revolution

I have spent most of today revising the French Revolution. It's quite an interesting topic but not a nice one to have to do an exam on...especially just after a Henry VII paper :-/
I heard a story of Danton (one of the people I learn about) saying that in 40 years (from 1790) Christianity would be eradicated from the planet. 40 years later his house was being used as a bible store house!
